Are you of Black African or Caribbean Heritage and want to make a difference in your community?
We are thrilled to be partnering with NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) to offer free Sip & Sew sessions from September until July 2025 to raise awareness about the importance of blood donations within the Black African & Caribbean community in Medway and the surrounding areas.
Join us for a special workshop where you'll not only learn how to sew a beautiful motif onto a tote bag from scratch, but you'll also have the opportunity to learn how you can make a real difference in the community by understanding the impact of black blood donation.
Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced sewer, all skill levels are welcome! This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your sewing skills, create something unique, and learn more about how you can help save lives through blood donation.
Let's come together, create, and contribute to an important cause. We can't wait to see you there! Refreshments Available - Donations are welcome ✂️🧵
These events are suitable from age 17 and above.
Can’t make it? Don’t worry you can still learn about giving blood via the Give Blood website site below and register to give blood and help your community!
As this event has limited spaces and we want to ensure that everyone who signs up can participate fully, we require all attendees to pay a small deposit. This deposit helps us secure your spot and prepare for your attendance, and will be fully refundable after your attendance at the event.
If for any reason, you’re unable to attend, please let us know within 48 hours so we can offer your spot to someone else and return your deposit.
