Sewing encourages children to:

• work through practical problems and challenges
• use tools to create, build or manage
• discover how they learn best
• pursue knowledge that interests them
• learn how to manage failures
• build confidence in decision making and evaluating risk
• develop creative and practical skills
• regularly experience achievement and success
• reflect on learning and experiences
• develop their language and communication skills
• improve fine motor skills
• become more motivated
• improve their concentration skills
How are Sewing Lessons organised?

The Sew In Group offers long term and introductory sewing school provision for primary (year 2+), secondary schools and home educators. Sewing lessons usually take place on the school site or community centres and are led by one of our trained activity leaders. Our lessons usually run after school for one hour, however we also provide morning, lunchtime, afternoon & holiday sessions and can run one off crafty sewing workshops around particular events such as Christmas.

After School Clubs Options

Machine Sewing Club offer a supportive environment for learning and improving sewing skills. Pupils gain hands-on experience with sewing machines, enhancing their proficiency in various techniques like stitching and pattern-making - creating projects such as bags, pencil cases and more.
Hand Sewing & Textiles Club provides an opportunity to learn and practice various textile crafts in a supportive setting. Participants can develop skills in hand sewing, embroidery, weaving and other fabric-based techniques. Our clubs offer a mix of structured learning for technique and free explorative play.

We usually arrange for all sessions to be booked online by parents/carers so that there is no admin for the school to manage, however this can be discussed.

We offer Sewing Classes to Kent, Essex, London and surrounding areas.
